Whitwood Road Attempted Murder Defendant Accepts Plea

On Feb. 15, a Baltimore man facing attempted murder charges pleaded guilty before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong.

Christopher Robinson and his defense counsel James Sweeting III, accepted a plea of 50 years, suspending all but 15 years with four years supervised probation for first-degree attempted murder and a concurrent 20 years, suspending all but five years without the possibility of parole with four years supervised probation for the use of a handgun in commission of a crime of violence.

Upon release, the defendant must have no unlawful contact with the victim and register as a gun offender.

According to court documents, on April 10 at 6:16 p.m., officers were called to the 5500 block of Whitwood Road for reports of shots being fired. On arrival, officers found a 27-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to an area hospital by medics.

Robinson, 27, was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, the use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, two counts of possessing a firearm with a felony conviction, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun in a vehicle, discharging firearms and illegal possession of ammo.
