On April 12, a defendant and his attorney Brian McDaniel appeared before a Baltimore City Circuit Court judge to receive the results of his competency evaluation.

Judge Gale E. Rasin agreed with expert findings that defendant Marcus Harris was incompetent to stand trial for the murder of 34-year-old Courtney Campbell.

Judge Rasin ordered Harris, 31, to be admitted into a facility as soon as a bed was available.

Harris is expected to be admitted in two weeks to treat his schizophrenia, as well as other mental conditions.

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Harris was charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and handgun on his person in connection to the murder of Campbell on the 3800 block of West Belvedere Avenue on March 25, 2022.
