On Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at 5:29 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 600 block of North Highland Avenue for a report of a cutting. Upon arrival, officers observed a male victim who was suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital, where the victim was listed in critical condition.

During the course of the investigation, detectives arrested two male suspects in connection to the stabbing in 2016.

In 2022, the victim, identified as Deontaye Anderson (DOB 7/15/05), succumbed to his injuries related to the 2016 stabbing incident.

On Nov. 15, homicide detectives were notified by the OCME that Anderson’s death has been ruled a homicide. Homicide detectives are working alongside the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine additional charges for the two suspects arrested in 2016.
