On Jan. 15, 2023, officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to an apartment dwelling on the 4200 block of Parkton Street for a 2-year-old female who was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, the officers found the child who had been pronounced deceased by responding medics.  There were no obvious signs of trauma to the child’s body.

The child’s remains were then transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy was performed.

On March 10, 2023, doctors from the medical examiner’s officer notified homicide detectives and informed them that the baby, 2-year-old Journey Sharp died from fentanyl intoxication, and is now being investigated as a homicide.

Charges are pending.
