On May 11, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) arrested 21-year-old Aurielle Montgomery of Baltimore, in the 500 block of Rocklyn Avenue located in Baltimore County.

Detectives believe that Montgomery murdered 1-year-old Nyemia Gilliard on Oct. 4, 2022, on the 2700 block of Ellicott Driveway.

Montgomery was transported by detectives to the Central Booking Intake Facility (CBIF) where she has been charged with first-degree murder.

On the night of the incident, at approximately 12:14 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 2700 block of Ellicott Driveway for a report of an unresponsive baby.

Once there, officers immediately attempted to render aid to Gillard, but ultimately the baby was pronounced dead by medics on scene.

The victim’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. On Oct. 18, 2022, doctors ruled the death to be a homicide caused by multiple signs of trauma.

Homicide detectives are investigating this incident.
