On Aug. 21, at approximately 10:49 a.m., Southern District Patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Spellman Road for a report of a shooting.
Once there, Baltimore Police Department officers located a 33-year-old male suffering from apparent life-threatening gunshot wounds. Aid was rendered to the victim until medics responded to the location, transporting the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
While on the scene, responding officers were advised of a suspect still in the area. Patrol officers gave chase to the suspect, who withdrew a gun, firing it at an officer and an armed security guard.
The officer and security guard returned fire to the suspect. Officers were able to arrest the suspect following a brief foot pursuit.
The 29-year-old suspect was transported to an area hospital for a leg injury.
