Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K.Copeland rescheduled 25-year-old attempted murder defendant Christopher Boykin’s trial on April 14 because the prosecution was involved in another hearing.

Boykin faces 20 charges for allegedly conspiring to commit murder on May 6, 2024, in the 500 block of North Curley St. He is accused of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and various conspiracy, robbery, and firearm counts in connection to the incident. 

According to charging documents, officers reported to the incident location and observed evidence of a shooting. 

Witnesses who spoke to officers said they observed a person said to her Boykin and co-defendant Dewan Houshins, 24, approaching the victim before gunshots rang out. Shortly after, a victim walked into John Hopkins Hospital to treat a gunshot wound to his back. 

Boykin, who is represented by defense attorney Augustine Okeke, is set for a June 24 trial, before Judge Sylvester B.Cox
