Shooting Involving 17-Year-Old Boy Was Self-Inflicted, Police Say

The shooting that left a 17-year-old boy injured on April 26 has been ruled self-inflicted, according to Baltimore Police. The case has since been removed from the 2026 non-fatal shooting count.

At approximately 1:24 p.m. on April 26, officers responded to 2700 block of Beryl Avenue, where they found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim was transported to an area hospital to treat his injuries.

Officers were later informed the shooting may have taken place on the 1100 block of N. Lakewood Avenue.
