Man Convicted of Gwynn Oak Avenue Attempted Murder 

A jury reached a May 13 guilty verdict on all 19 charges against an attempted murder defendant accused of shooting at his victim 15 times in May 2023.  Lance Hickman, 30, was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, two counts of illegal possession of a firearm, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun in a vehicle, illegal possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm in Baltimore city.  According to previous Baltimore Witness coverage, the prosecutor said Hickman and his cousin stalked the victim, who was walking to his grandmother’s house on the 5100 block of Gwynn Oak Avenue. Judge Postpones Sentencing for Defendant Convicted in 2021 West Saratoga Street Shooting Homicide

On May 10, a Baltimore man convicted of murdering 32-year-old Tavon Hutton had his sentencing postponed before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta Brown.  During Wednesday’s hearing, defense attorney Natalie Finegar requested a postponement of defendant Donte Brown’s sentencing due to a motion for a new trial filed by defense attorney Roland Brown.  Judge Brown stated she had a copy of the new motion since Feb.
