On May 8, a homicide defendant accepted a guilty plea for murdering 24-year-old Jerron Davis before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Fletcher-Hill. Defendant Jalonte Davis accepted a plea of life, suspending all but 40 years with five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder. Judge Fletcher-Hill binded himself to the plea offer for a maximum of 40 years. Attorney Henry Barnes deferred sentencing to bring in the 26-year-old defendant's family to advocate for a more appropriate sentence for his charges.
