All murder charges were dismissed July 29 against co-defendants Kalim Satterfield and Darrell Morton before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong due to insufficient evidence.

Satterfield, 26, and Morton, 37, were each charged with two counts of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony-violent crime, firearm use in commission of a felony-violent crime, and handgun on person. Satterfield was additionally charged with firearm possession.

Satterfield and Morton were scheduled for a jury trial beginning on July 28. During a hearing on July 29, the prosecution declared there is “not sufficient evidence to go forward.”

The defendants were advised, by attorneys, that the charges would not be prosecuted and expunged from their records.

According to charging documents, on Aug. 17 of last year, Western District officers received a call for service for a shooting on the 1000 block of Tiffany Court. Upon arrival, they located 37-year-old Dominic Reid on the 1000 block of Madison Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds.

Area surveillance footage captured, at approximately 10:58 p.m., a Black male wearing dark clothing, with a grey t-shirt who walked onto the 1000 block of Madison Avenue, shooting Reid and fleeing north.

Witnesses says they positively identified Satterfield and the bike driver as Morton.

No further hearings were scheduled in this case as of July 29.
