On July 4, 2022, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Baltimore Police Department officers were patrolling on the 100 block of North Glover Street when they heard discharging of a firearm.
Upon canvassing the immediate area, officers located 42-year-old Leroy Jeter III on the 400 block of North Montford Avenue, suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased.
During this investigation, detectives identified a suspect in this homicide.
On Feb. 1, members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested 34-year-old Martez Brooks of Baltimore.
Detectives believe that Brooks was involved in the murder of 42-year-old Leroy Jeter III on July 4, 2022, on the 400 block of North Montford Avenue.
Detectives transported Brooks to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder.
