Plea Offered to Baltimore Man Charged with 2nd-Degree Murder

A Baltimore resident charged with the murder of a 34-year-old victim was offered a plea Sept. 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissia M. Phinn.  

Jayson Brown, 21, is charged with second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and conspiracy to first and second-degree assault. He was charged in connection to an incident on Aug. 21, 2019. 

Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented 40 years, suspending all but 15 years, with five years supervised probation for second-degree murder. 

The defendant and his defense attorney, Amy Stone, had not yet discussed the terms of the plea and were unable to come to a decision on whether to accept.

According to WBAL TV, Brown was arrested for the murder of 34-year-old Marvin Dessaure that occurred on the 1800 block of Aisquith Street on Feb. 10. 

His trial is scheduled for Feb. 22, 2022.
