On March 20,  a jury heard opening statements in a 36-year-old attempted murder defendant’s trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer.

Marvin Edmonds stands accused of attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, two counts of possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of ammunition and firing a gun in Baltimore City.

The prosecution said, “We all have a life story to tell.”

He went on to tell the jury that on Feb. 19, 2022, Edmonds changed the story of the man he allegedly shot in the head because he couldn’t recall what happened to him after the trauma.

The prosecution also claimed that Edmonds changed his testimony during the police interrogation.

Defense attorney Rodney Gray said there were no cameras or videos to show that his client was the shooter said the investigation was wanting because his client’s phone was collected a year later, and the police were simply looking to pin the crime on Edmonds.

According to court documents,  Baltimore Police Department officers were called to the 1600 block of East Eager Street where they found a 39-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
