Officers Perform CPR, Call Medics for Western District Shooting Victim

On July 9, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 900 block of North Dukeland Street for a report of a shooting.

Once there, Baltimore Police Department officers immediately began CPR on 19-year-old Derrick Hawks, who was unresponsive, and suffering from an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound.   

Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later by hospital staff.
