A Baltimore man accused of attempted murder rejected a plea of 20 years with three years supervised probation on Jan. 27 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn

During reception court on Thursday, Tavian Fleming and his defense attorney Jeremy Eldridge, rejected a plea of 35 years, suspending all but 20 years with three years supervised probation for first-degree attempted murder.

Fleming, 35, is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, discharging firearms, and reckless endangerment in connection to an incident on July 18, 2021.

According to court documents, on the day of the incident, officers were called 300 block of E. Eager Street for reports of a shooting. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, who said the defendant threatened him a week prior to the incident.

The victim informed the officers that while in his car, he saw the defendant following him; he stopped to park when the defendant allegedly fired three shots at the victim.

Fleming’s trial is scheduled for Aug. 8 with Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana Middleton.
