A 30-year-old Baltimore man agreed to 10 years incarceration on May 9 in connection to an attempted murder in West Baltimore last year.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles Dorsey III presided over the plea hearing of Ronald Lee on Tuesday when the prosecution presented the offer of 30 years, suspending all but 10 years, and five years of supervised probation for attempted second-degree murder and a concurrent five years without parole for firearm use in a crime of violence.

Lee was represented by defense attorney Stephanie Salter.

In addition to the aforementioned charges, Lee was also facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm, firearm possession with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a firearm, firearm possession with a drug conviction, having a handgun on his person and in a vehicle and illegal possession of ammo.

During the proceeding, the prosecutor informed the court that on May 4, 2022, Lee was in his 2013 Hyundai Elantra on the unit block of N. Eutaw Street where the victim—joined by two others—asked for a ride. Video surveillance footage showed one of the men accompanying Lee lean into the front passenger’s window and begin fighting with the passenger. The victim and the other man are then accused of starting to fight Lee who was in the front driver’s seat.

When the fight ended, the video footage showed the victim and two men walk away and a muzzle flash come from the driver, striking the victim in the torso.

A detective with the Baltimore Police Department was able to identify Lee based on previous encounters.
