A Baltimore man charged with firing a handgun on New Year’s Eve in 2022 will serve the remainder of his sentence on home detention, following a plea agreement between the prosecution and defense counsel.
On June 20, defendant David Williams and his attorney Sheri Scott-Redwood appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yvette Bryant when a prosecutor shared a plea offer of three years, suspending all but one year, and two years of supervised probation for having a loaded handgun on his person. The plea also requires the 30-year-old defendant to register as a gun offender.
Williams’ family sat in the gallery as the defendant accepted the plea, while his defense attorney requested the remainder of her client’s sentence continue on home detention. The prosecution and Judge Bryant agreed to the request.
