Jury selection for 36-year-old Larry Moore began on June 1 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow.
Moore, who is represented by defense attorney Donald Wright, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and multiple firearm violations. The counts arose from a shooting incident on the afternoon of Sept. 5, 2025.
Charging documents state Moore allegedly rented a white Ford F-150 and drove to Jay’s Grocery on the 2300 block of E. Preston Street. Officers responded to a shooting following a 10-round ShotSpotter alert, but found no victim. They later learned the owner of Jay’s Grocery walked into Johns Hopkins Hospital with gunshot wounds to both hands and his right hip, and a graze wound to his neck.
CCTV footage allegedly confirms the shooter approached the victim, who was sitting curbside in his vehicle, and shot through the victim’s passenger side window. The victim exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, while the perpetrator continued to shoot until he appeared to run out of ammunition.
The shooter was then seen fleeing onto I-83 northbound in his rented vehicle.
While investigating, detectives reportedly recovered surveillance footage, GPS coordinates, phone records, and photographs of Moore’s truck rental agreement with his ID as well as wearing clothing said to be similar to the perpetrator’s.
