A Baltimore man involved in a double shooting had his jury selection postponed once again on March 16 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer

Donyell Morris, 21, and co-defendant Charles Anderson, 21, are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm during a violent crime, conspiracy to use of a firearm during a violent crime, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of conspiracy to armed robbery, three counts of robbery, two counts of conspiracy to robbery, having a handgun on his person, and conspiracy to wearing/carrying a handgun in connection to an incident on July 2, 2019.

Initially, on Monday, Morris’ trial was scheduled to start but his defense attorney, Robert Ness, experienced a medical emergency during jury selection proceedings. Ness was transported to the hospital and the trial was postponed until Wednesday.

However, jurors were told that the trial had been postponed once again. The prosecutor’s office told Baltimore Witness that jury selection will be reset for Morris’ case in September.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Morris and his co-defendant Charles Anderson allegedly fatally shot a man in the chest and a woman in the head on July 2, 2019, during an armed robbery on the 1200 block of Bloomingdale Road. The defendants are being tried separately.

Morris’ trial is now scheduled on Sept. 19.
