A jury found Charles Bowen, 20, and Davon Butler, 19, guilty of all charges on April 8 in connection to the murder of Darcell Mitchell, 20. Mitchell was believed to be an old friend of the co-defendants, who murdered him after he refused to surrender $50.
Bowen was found guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and firearm use in a felony or violent crime.
Butler was found guilty of the same charges, as well as of having a handgun on his person, possession of a firearm or ammunition as a minor, and having a loaded handgun on his person.
Both defendants are expected to receive sentencing dates soon. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer presided over the hearing.
