On Nov. 28, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn set the trial date for defendant Jose Flamenco-Reyes for May 21, 2024.
Reyes, 37, is represented by defense attorneys Todd Oppenheim and Kevin Zelaya, and is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of firearm use in a felony violent crime, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of an unregistered rifle or shotgun in connection to a June 3 incident.
According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, Reyes killed 27-year-old Jeremy Maldonado. Reyes also shot another individual on the 500 block of Eastern Avenue.
Reyes’ trial is expected to last four days.
