On Sept. 21, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn postponed the trial of a defendant accused of the 2022 murder of 37-year-old Tyrone Walker.

Dana Davenport’s defense attorney, Marci T. Johnson, requested the postponement because she and the prosecutor have not yet been able to complete jury selection as of the third day scheduled for Davenport’s five-day trial.

Judge Phinn scheduled 29-year-old Davenport’s new five-day trial to begin on Jan. 16, 2024, before Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer

Per a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) press release, Davenport was arrested in connection to a June 5, 2022, incident that occurred on the 200 block of S. Loudon Street. Officers found Walker suffering from a gunshot wound. Police officers arrested Davenport for his murder two months later.
