On Dec. 13, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn postponed the sentencing for a 19-year-old defendant who pleaded guilty to murder in May 2022.

Defendant Omarion Anderson pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in May 2022 for the murder of 31-year-old Efraim Gordon a year earlier.

Rasheed Morris and William Clinton III were also charged in the case in connection to the incident that occurred on May 3, 2021.

In June, Morris, 17, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

According to other news outlets, Clinton, 20, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in November. However, the Maryland Judiciary website doesn’t reflect a plea deal but does state the defendant is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 17, 2024.

According to Fox45 Baltimore, Gordan was shot during an attempted robbery on the 3700 block of Fords Lane.

During Tuesday’s hearing, defense attorney Natalie Finegar and the prosecution were not present due to an ongoing trial scheduling conflict.

The stand-in defense attorney for Finegar said it would be in the best interest of Anderson to postpone the hearing until his attorney is available.

Judge Phinn approved the request and scheduled Anderson’s new sentencing date on May 16.

Editor’s note: The article previous published with Clinton accepting a plea deal in November, but was updated to better explain the defendant’s status.
