The bail hearing for a 41-year-old Baltimore woman, who was involved in a non-fatal shooting, was postponed on July 6.

Leonda Haynes is charged with first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime, reckless endangerment, discharging a handgun, having a loaded handgun on her person, carrying a handgun on her person, and malicious destruction of property with a value over $1,000 in connection to an incident that occurred on Dec. 18, 2021.

Haynes’ attorney, Jonathan Kerr, requested the bail hearing to be postponed until he is able to obtain evidence of correspondence from Haynes that he believes will be influential in a decision regarding bail. The correspondence was supposedly sent from the victim to the defendant and is currently in the defendant’s custody.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie Hong granted the defense’s request to postpone.

The prosecutor was not present at this proceeding for unknown reasons.

Haynes’ next hearing is scheduled on July 22 at 8:30 a.m.
