On April 29, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a trial date for a 25-year-old defendant charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Daquan Maliek Allen is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, discharging a firearm, firearm possession with a felony conviction and illegal possession of ammunition in connection to an incident that occurred on the 2500 block of Eutaw Place on April 24, 2022.

Defense attorney Bradley L. MacFee requested a postponement of the trial, as he was in recovery from surgery. Over the prosecution’s objections, the judge granted the delay.

JudgeCopeland scheduled the three-day trial to begin on Aug. 6 with Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) the defendant had approached a couple, harassed the boyfriend, attempted to rob him and then allegedly shot at him before fleeing the scene. The shooting also damaged two nearby vehicles. Shell casings that likely matched Allen’s recovered handgun were discovered on the scene.
