Baltimore City Circuity Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn continued the hearing of the defendant during reception court on July 10. The defendant is accused of being connected to the fatal shooting of D’Asia Garrison on New Year’s day.
Defendant Andre Bailey is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction in an incident that occurred on Jan. 1 2023.
Defense attorney Roland S. Harris represented Bailey, 27, during the pretrial hearing and mentioned that the ballistics analysis for his client case was still pending due to how many firearms were reported during this incident.
According to a Baltimore Police Department news release, on the day of the incident at approximately 3:29 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers were called to the 700 block of North Glover Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived at the location, they observed Garrison, 17, suffering from gunshot wounds and an injured 31-year-old male.
Garrison succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Judge Phinn continued the defendant’s hearing for Aug 30.
