A mistrial was declared in the double homicide trial of Khaleb Edmonds on June 24 after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Following a day of deliberations, a hung jury ended the first trial of the 25-year-old defendant who is charged with the murders of Myron White and Darius Hill, both 26, on the 2200 block of West North Avenue, on August 24, 2023. Edmonds is facing two counts each of first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony or violent crime as well as a single count of having a handgun on his person.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer declared the mistrial Tuesday afternoon.

At trial, the prosecution played video footage that showed White driving around the area with Hill in the passenger’s seat before the vehicle swerved and ran through a red light. When the victims drove back through, Edmonds allegedly fired multiple shots at the vehicle, striking White in the head and Hill in the torso.

Defense attorney Staci Pipkin described DNA evidence from a chair outside a bar as “garbage,” adding that the prosecutor’s case rested on an outfit and hemline.

Edmonds is currently scheduled for a motion’s hearing on Sept. 15 followed by a reception court date of Dec. 1.
