A Baltimore man accused of fatally shooting 34-year-old Dondi Johnson in 2020 was sentenced to life plus 10 years on May 31.

Following a four-day trial in February, 25-year-old Kristopher Johnson was found guilty of Johnson’s murder in addition to two weapons charges for the incident on the 3600 block of W. Rogers Avenue on Oct. 25, 2020. What started as an ongoing feud ended shortly after 3:00 p.m. that day when Baltimore Police found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, also known as DJ, died from his injuries. Video surveillance and witness interviews assisted police in identifying Johnson as the shooter.

During Wednesday’s sentencing, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Fletcher-Hill, who presided over the trial, imposed a sentence of life for first-degree murder; a consecutive 10 years for firearm use in a felony violent crime; and a concurrent five years for firearm possession with a felony conviction.

Johnson was represented by defense attorney Bradley MacFee.
