The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred in the evening of Dec. 16.
According to a news release, at 6:49 p.m. officers were called to the 2500 block of N. Edgecombe Circle for reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot to the back.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was walking when he heard gunshots and noticed he was shot. The crime scene has been located in the 4500 block of Finney Avenue, police said.
Northern District shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
