Baltimore Sees 3 Shootings Within an Hour

The Baltimore Police Department is investigating three shootings that occurred within an hour of one another on Nov. 5.

Following a shooting on Clifton Avenue around 1:30 a.m. and another on E. Baltimore Street less than an hour later, police were called to the 800 block of Pontiac Avenue around 10:20 a.m. When they arrived, officers found an unresponsive man, later identified as 28-year-old Qwize Butcher, with gunshot wounds, a news releases states.

Butcher was taken to Shock Trauma where he died.

Two additional shootings occurred soon after within five minutes of each other.

Shortly after 11 a.m., police said, officers were called to a hospital where two shooting victims, a 15-year-old teenager and a 20-year-old man, walked in to treat non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The victims told police they were shot on the 2400 block of Christian Street.

Then, just before 11:10 a.m., police said, officers were called to the 3400 block of Hilldale Place, where they found a 17-year-old teenager who was shot in the leg. The victim told police that an armed man approached him on Park Heights Avenue.

As the two struggled over the weapon, the gun fired and hit the victim in the leg. The victim called police after running to Hilldale Place.
