A 24-year-old Baltimore man accused of attempted murder rejected a plea offer from the prosecution on Feb. 15 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Steve Wilson is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, reckless endangerment, and discharging a firearm in connection to an incident on Aug. 26, 2021.
During reception court on Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 30 years in prison for first-degree murder, and 25 years in prison, the first five years without parole, for use of a firearm during a violent crime. The charges were set to run concurrently.
Wilson and his defense attorney, Augustine Okeke, rejected the offer.
Wilson’s trial is scheduled for July 13.
