A 37-year-old Baltimore man accused of attempted murder was denied bail for the second time in one week on Jan. 11 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Deandre Whitehead, who was denied bail last week, is facing several charges, including attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and eight firearm-related charges.
On Tuesday, defense attorney Marci Johnson told the court that officers with the Baltimore Police Department found a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound on his leg on the 800 block of Carroll Street on March 26, 2021. The victim told police that Whitehead shot him based on a feud over a decade ago.
The prosecution recommended no bail, which was approved by Judge Philip S. Jackson.
Whitehead’s trial is currently scheduled for May 3.
