The trial date for a 36-year-old Baltimore man, who is accused of attempted murder, was scheduled for July on April 26 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Andre Davis is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder of a minor, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder of a minor, three counts of first-degree assault, four counts of second-degree assault, and two counts of reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, discharging firearms, and malicious destruction of property of more than $1,000 in connection to an incident on May 31, 2020.

Judge Phinn listened as the counsel came to an agreement on a trial date. Yesterday, during reception court the prosecutor presented a plea of 10 years suspending all but five years with two years on probation for first-degree assault, and five years for reckless endangerment to the defendant which was rejected.

Davis was represented by defense attorney Jonathan Kerr.

According to court documents, police responded to a call from an aggravated assault on the 2800 block of Lake Avenue. The victim told police that Davis, her mother’s boyfriend at the time, began arguing with her. When the victim attempted to leave and get in her vehicle with her 1-year-old son inside, Davis allegedly started shooting at her with a semi-automatic handgun.

Davis’ trial is scheduled for July 19. It is expected to last three days.
