A 59-year-old Baltimore man charged with attempted murder had his mental health court hearing continued before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on Jan. 11.
During the hearing, Judge Rasin announced that defendant, Mark Williams, had been found incompetent to stand trial. According to Judge Rasin, Williams’ mental health status makes him an ongoing threat to himself, others, and property.
According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Williams is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, and reckless endangerment for an incident on October 7, 2021.
Judge Rasin scheduled Williams’ next mental health court hearing on June 12 to review the defendant’s status.
Williams is represented by defense attorney Thomas Rafter.
