On June 28, a 28-year-old homicide defendant received a trial date in reception court before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.
Lamonte Sherman , is charged with two counts each of first-degree-murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime and single counts of having a handgun on his person and illegal possession of a regulated firearm in connection to an incident on Dec. 3, 2023. Sherman was represented by defense attorney Roya Hanna.
The prosecution did not have an offer for Sherman. Judge Copeland scheduled his four-day trial to begin on Oct. 22 before Judge Lynn S. Mays.
According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, on Jan. 23, detectives arrested Sherman for allegedly killing 28-year-old Phillip Brown and 28-year-old Michael Saffold after a dispute on the 3600 block of Greenmount Avenue.
