Manslaughter defendant Tanee Dorothy Stokes was ruled competent and criminally responsible by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin for an incident on June 6, 2020.
Stokes, 23, is charged with allegedly failing to return to the scene and vehicular homicide.
Judge Rasin ruled that Stokes was competent and could be held criminally responsible for the June 6 incident. Tony Garcia, Stokes’ defense attorney and the prosecutor are now able to proceed to trial, but no date has been set yet.
According to previous reports, Garcia requested the competency and criminal responsibility evaluations after a meeting with Stokes where she was allegedly unable to assist with her case and became very upset.
