Thirty-two-year-old Obadiah Malone, was convicted of attempted murder and other charges before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan Carl Lazerow.
On April 1, the jury found Malone guilty of attempted first-degree murder in relation to an incident that occurred on Oct. 10, 2022, on the 1900 block of Braddish Avenue.
Represented by defense attorney, Bradley MacFee, Malone was also found guilty of firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle and discharging firearms.
However, no verdicts were rendered for attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
Evidence in Malone’s trial included surveillance footage, 911 calls, DNA evidence and ShotSpotter audio of gunfire. Among the video clips were multiple shots of the suspect wearing items that matched a pair of shoes and a sweatshirt found at the defendant’s girlfriend’s house, where prosecution claims she was allegedly hiding them.
The aggregated evidence led the jury to conviction.
Malone’s sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
