A Baltimore man accused of attempted murder for an incident on Aug. 15, 2023. Doral Douglas, 53, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland on Jan. 31 to set a trial date after rejecting a plea.
Romel Showell stood in for Michael Cooper as Douglas’ defense attorney.
Douglas is charged with attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. He is also charged with five other counts, including first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime and conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime.
The plea bargain, rejected by Douglas, offered 40 years suspending all but 20, and five years supervised probation for attempted first-degree murder, and a consecutive five years without the possibility of parole for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Judge Copeland set the trial date for April 22 through April 24 before Judge Anthony F. Vittoria.
