On Dec. 14, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn scheduled the trial date for a 48-year-old attempted murder defendant.
Tavon Allen is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm possession with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person and discharging a firearm within Baltimore City in connection to a May 29 incident.
Allen rejected the prosecution’s plea offer of 60 years, suspending all but 45 years, with five years of probation and gun offender registration for attempted first-degree murder, a concurrent five years without the possibility of parole for firearm possession with a felony conviction and another concurrent five years without the possibility of parole for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Defense attorney Derrick Hamlin and the prosecution agreed to a trial date of May 15, 2024. Judge Phinn scheduled the three-day trial to be heard before Judge Videtta A. Brown.
