Judge Sets Trial Date for Mountwood Road Non-Fatal Shooting Incident

On Dec. 8, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn decided on a trial date for 47-year-old Mark Adain Jackson.

Jackson is charged with firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun in his vehicle, having a loaded handgun in his vehicle, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun on his person, illegal possession of ammunition, discharging a handgun and two counts of second-degree assault in connection to an incident on Aug. 14. 

Jackson and Hasson Barnes, the defense attorney standing in for Marianne Lima, rejected an unspecified plea offer from the prosecution. Judge Phinn set a trial date for March 4, 2024, lasting four days before Judge Martin P. Welch.  

Documents from the District Court of Maryland state that on Aug. 14, an anonymous call was made to 911 regarding a domestic dispute on the 4100 block of Mountwood Road. The caller reported that a man was beating a woman. Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded and found Jackson’s girlfriend’s family in turmoil. According to the girlfriend, Jackson began shooting into the air.
