Judge Schedules Trial in East Monument Street Shooting Case

On Nov. 7, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles J. Peters scheduled the trial of a 47-year-old attempted murder defendant.

Antwain Jackson is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person and firing a gun in Baltimore City in connection to a June 25 incident.

Defense attorney Jason Rodriguez had no objections to the prosecution’s suggested trial date of Jan. 23, 2024, before Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer.

Judge Peters scheduled the trial on that date as a backup case.

According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, the 52-year-old victim told police he was shot after a verbal argument with a man on the 2800 block of East Monument Street.  Jackson was arrested on June 28.
