Trial Date Set for Double Stabbing Murder Defendant

On Nov. 2 Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton scheduled a trial for second-degree murder defendant Willie Lewis Billinger. Billinger’s attorney Todd Oppenheim was standing in for Deborah Levi, who was unable to attend the proceedings.

Billinger, 46, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder in a March 14, 2017, incident.

Judge Middleton scheduled Billinger’s trial to begin on Jan. 25, 2024, in front of Judge Ronald A. Silkworth.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Billinger is being charged in connection to the murders of Howard Martin and Earline Thomas, who were both 53 at the time of the murders. Billinger was identified by multiple eyewitnesses and a photo array. The incident took place on the 2400 block of Saint Paul Street. Police were called to the scene due to a “suspicious death.” Both victims suffered multiple stab wounds and were found on the street.
