May Non-Fatal Shooting Defendant Rejects Plea

On Oct. 26, a 27-year-old non-fatal shooting defendant appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn to hear the prosecution’s offer and set a trial date.

Wallace Clifton is charged with firearm possession with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a loaded handgun on his person and in his vehicle, illegal possession of ammunition and firing a gun in Baltimore City in connection to a May 15 incident.

The prosecution offered Clifton five years without parole for firearm possession with a felony conviction. Clifton would have also been required to register as a gun offender upon release. Clifton rejected the offer.

Clifton and his attorney Maureen O’Leary will next appear in court for his trial date on Jan. 24, 2024, before Judge Philip S. Jackson
