On Aug. 23, Baltimore City Circuit Judge Melissa M. Phinn set a trial date for defendant George Thomas, who is accused of discharging a firearm in Baltimore City.
No plea was offered by the prosecution, with the prosecutor additionally stating that they would need postponement for the trial as well.
Judge Phinn then moved forward and scheduled the trial for Oct. 25, with Judge Dana M. Middleton presiding.
According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Thomas was arrested on Nov. 25, 2022, following an incident where he was suspected of discharging a firearm on the Carroll Park Golf Course. Police stated that Thomas then fled towards the train tracks.
Thomas is charged with carrying a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, assault weapon roster violation, possessing a detachable magazine over 10 rounds, two counts of discharging a firearm, and possessing a handgun within 100 yards of a park.
