On Aug. 15, Baltimore City Circuit Judge Lawrence P. Fletcher-Hill placed a non-fatal shooting case on the stet docket after a witness failed to appear in court.

Defendant Brandon William-Rice was charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun on his persons, and reckless endangerment in connection to an incident that occurred on Dec. 3, 2022.

Defense attorney Alex Leokus mentioned during the hearing that a new witness reported new video surveillance footage from the incident.

Prosecutors said they had attempted to get the witness to testify on the new footage, but had been unable to contact them.

According to court documents, on the day of the incident, a Baltimore Police Department officer responded to a call of a shooting on the 3300 block of Belair Road. When the officer arrived the victim told them that Rice, who she had recently had a sexual relationship with, had shot at her and an unidentified male acquaintance. This all happened following a verbal argument according to the victim.

Judge Hill also issued a no contact order for the victim to the defendant.
