Officers Arrest Suspect in East Monument Street Dispute Turned Shooting

On June 28, at approximately 7:25 p.m., Eastern District officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) and detectives arrested 46-year-old Antwain Jackson of Baltimore on the 2800 block of Ashland Street.

Detectives believe that Jackson shot a 52-year-old male on June 25, on the 2800 block of East Monument Street.

Antwain Jackson was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and various handgun violations.

On June 25, at approximately 12:25 a.m., Southeast District officers were flagged down in the 3300 block of E. Fayette Street by a male victim stating he was shot.

Officers observed the victim suffering from a graze wound. A medic was requested and the victim was treated on scene.

Preliminary information revealed that the victim was in a verbal argument with a suspect when the suspect then produced a firearm and fired at the victim, striking him and a vehicle.

Eastern District shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
