Southwest District Officers Arrest Suspect Following Barricade in Poplar Grove Street Non-Fatal Shooting

On June 13, at approximately 11:11 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street in reference to a ShotSpotter alert.

Once there, officers were advised of a possible armed person inside of an apartment in that block.

After a brief barricade, a 24-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

After a temporary barricade, 23-year-old Cornelius Williams of Baltimore was taken into custody without incident.

Officers located a 57-year-old male at the location, suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The 23-year-old male suspect was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged.
