Attempted homicide defendant Alonzo Plenty was acquitted of all charges on Sept. 16, one day after a jury was selected for his trial.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Paul Alpert granted defense attorney Michael Cooper’s motion for judgment of acquittal during Friday’s proceedings.

Plenty was facing a multitude of charges, including attempted murder, assault, and several weapons charges, for a shooting on June 14, 2021, on the 900 block of East Patapsco Avenue. Baltimore Police later found the victim on the 100 block of Chesapeake Avenue, where the victim crashed a vehicle in an attempt to get to the hospital to treat his gunshot wounds.
