Judge Grants Bail for Attempted Murder Defendant in Armistead Way Shooting Case

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer granted bail to a defendant facing attempted murder charges on Feb. 22.

Both counsels agreed that defendant Leonidas Solanos-Campos should be released on Advantage Sentencing Alternative Programs (ASAP) home detention on Wednesday.

Solanos-Campos, 23, is charged with two counts each of first and second-degree attempted murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and several firearm charges in connection to an incident on Sept. 10, 2022.

According to court documents, officers were called to the 1000 block of Rodman Way on the day of the incident for reports of an aggravated assault by shooting.

The victim told police that while he was stopped in his vehicle in a parking lot on the 1000 block of Armistead Way, another car pulled up, and a dispute broke out between the individuals. The defendant was identified as one of the people who shot at the victim.

On Feb. 3, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn scheduled a trial date for Solanos-Campos and his co-defendant Kendrick Kendall Barksdale for June 26 with Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda Tanner presiding. The trial is expected to last two days.
